Dr. Joann Kim received her license in Chiropractic Care from the Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles, California and acupuncture training from the Emperors College of Traditional Oriental Medicine, Cum Laude in Santa Monica. A native of Los Angeles, her early training into the healing arts was with her mother, Dr. Kumsook Kim, a well known Oriental Medicine doctor and founder of Olympic Spa in Los Angeles and the Beverly Hills Oriental Medicine clinic.

Fundamental to Dr. Kim’s practice is the correction of energy imbalance and the removal of obstructions of the body’s vital energies (chi) that flow in distinct pathways called meridians. When energy flow is unobstructed, the body organs, bones, vessels, tissues, fluids, muscles, tendons, nervous, immune and hormonal systems function properly, supporting good health. When body systems are blocked, pain, discomfort, and imbalances occur. Combining her expertise in acupuncture with chiropractic care, Dr. Kim specializes in pain management, women’s health, herbal medicine, and nutrition guidance.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
In addition to practicing acupuncture with the medical practice of Dr. Charles Schwarz since 2003, Dr. Kim has also had her own practice since 1989. Prior to that time she assisted with her family owned clinic, Beverly Hills Oriental Medicine and was an acupressure instructor for the California University of Oriental Medicine.
